Jason Aldean Adds Summer Leg To Sold Out 2011 My Kinda Party Tour

“Feels like this first leg just got started…we’re only warming up!” said Aldean. “It’ll be nice to stop in some places we haven’t been since the new record came out. I’m really looking forward to having Chris and Thompson Square out with us too. Both are on a roll right now, so it’ll be a great time!”

Lexington, KY’s Rupp Arena hosted Aldean Saturday night for its biggest crowd in over six years and Aldean’s biggest career headlining show with over 18,000 fans. Of the live show, The Lexington Herald-Leader said, “…watching a young indie country act smoke all major name competitors at the box and earn such an easygoing and complete trust with an audience of this size was an honest thrill.”

Aldean’s sixth career No. one “Don’t You Wanna Stay” featuring Kelly Clarkson holds a second week at No. one on the Billboard Country Singles chart this week. The second release off his PLATINUM album MY KINDA PARTY also continues to hold strong in the No. one position on iTunes’ Top 10 Country Songs. 2011 began with a new benchmark for Aldean, his first ever Entertainer of the Year and Top Male Vocalist of the Year nominations for the 46th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards. The news came just days after learning of the PLATINUM certification of his fourth studio album MY KINDA PARTY, bringing the country rocker to over five million in career album sales.

Recently nominated for his first GRAMMY Award for Best Male Country Vocal Performance with his hit, “Gettin’ You Home,” Chris Young has emerged as a fan-favorite with three consecutive No. ones at radio. His third release, NEON, featuring the hot new single, “Tomorrow,” is set to release this summer.

Thompson Square, burst on to the country music scene with the release of their self-titled debut album earning the No. three spot on the Top Country Albums chart. Their infectious hit single, “Are You Gonna Kiss Me Or Not,” has reached the Top five spot on iTunes Country Singles chart and on the country radio charts.

“DON’T YOU WANNA STAY” TAKES BILLBOARD’S NO. ONE SPOT TODAY

The second release off his PLATINUM album MY KINDA PARTY also continues to hold strong in the No. one position on iTunes’ Top 10 Country Songs.

“It’s a pretty killer birthday present, that’s for sure! My family and friends are going to have to work VERY VERY hard to beat what country radio and the fans have already given me today,” laughed Aldean. “On a serious note, I am really proud of this song. Anybody who says they wouldn’t be nervous to try and go note for note with a vocalist like Kelly Clarkson is straight up lying to you! So, I do feel a huge sense of accomplishment to have pulled it off in the studio and on live tv with her, and then for everyone else to have responded to it the way they did…it’s just incredible, and you never take those things for granted.”

Aldean’s MY KINDA PARTY TOUR is sold out again this weekend in Charlottesville, Va., Lexington, Ky. and Toledo, Ohio. For more information and a full list of tour dates, visit JasonAldean.com.
