JASON ALDEAN TO HEADLINE CBS RADIO’S ANNUAL STARS AND STRINGS CONCERT
“Veterans are the reason we get to go out every day and do what we do.” – Jason Aldean
This morning, CBS RADIO announced the second annual Stars and Strings, a stripped-down acoustic concert celebrating our nation’s military heroes and their families, at The Chicago Theatre on Wednesday, Nov. 9. The show will take place just prior to Veteran’s Day. Jason Aldean will headline the show, and announced it when he joined Stylz and Roman, the new morning show hosts on CBS RADIO Chicago country station US99 (WUSN-FM). Radio.com is a part of the CBS Radio Network.
He explain why he wanted to be a part of Stars and Strings: “Well first of all, my dad is retired military, from the air force, and my grandfather retired from the Navy,” Aldean said. “…I grew up in a home that had a lot of military background and sort of grew up on an air-force base. To me, it means a lot. Veterans are the reason we get to go out every day and do what we do.”
Aldean also announced he would invite many of his fellow country artists and friends to join the line-up at Stars and Strings. The rest of the lineup will be revealed over the next few days: he will call Stylz and Roman every morning at 7:10 am, CT, beginning Tuesday, Sept. 13 to unveil new performers. Together, these artists will perform both solo and in various combinations in a guitar-pull style. Fans should tune in every morning to hear Aldean’s announcement on US99, online at us99.com, and through the Radio.com app for mobile devices.
As a salute to those who currently serve or have previously served in our armed forces, a portion of the concert’s proceeds will benefit Folds of Honor, which provides educational support to spouses and children of America’s fallen and wounded soldiers. There are more than one million dependents adversely affected by military deployments and nearly nine out of 10 do not qualify for federal scholarships.
Chase® cardmembers have access to pre-sale tickets and VIP sound check packages beginning Tuesday, Sept. 20 at 10:00AM, CT through Thursday, Sept. 22 at 10:00PM, CT. General ticket sales begin on Friday, Sept. 23 at 10:00AM, CT through Ticketmaster.
Please visit StarsandStrings.com for more information on the concert, participating artist news and opportunities to enter the Radio.com VIP sweepstakes.
