Tattoos On This Town Contest Winner Announcement!
Lindsey from Richmond, KY
“My Town”
A small town in Kentucky,
Grew up on a small back country road,
Green fields on each side,
Where everyone knows each other.
Yahoos ever Saturday morning,
Fishing on Saturdays with my papaw,
A splash in the Kentucky Rive,
Pickin bouquets of wild roses and daisies.
Church every Sunday morning,
I’m a Christian like my momma,
Jesus watches me every day.
Madison County fair in mid-July,
The aroma of cotton candy and funnel cakes,
The tilt-a-whirl goes round and round,
Sounds of laughter heard from miles away.
Kokomo our secret meeting place,
Where we dreamed of being fairytale princesses,
Told not to get dirty,
We would come back to the cabin covered in mud.
Family the most important thing,
Dinner every Sunday night,
Couldn’t be who I am without them,
Always there when I need a shoulder to lean on.
A boy who stole my heart,
Fell head over heels for this one,
Those sweet country nights looking at the stars,
Couldn’t be happier than this.
Those curly country roads,
Pave the way of my life,
I left my marks on this town,
While it left its marks on me.
